Delish and Delightful
December 6, 2011 by savyburlingtongirl

Once in a bluemoon I'm compelled to write a review and certainly found Vitos by the Water deserving of 5 stars. Our challenging and demanding party of four deemed dinner to be perfect from beginning to end. Loved the overall sophistacated and cozy ambience. The experienced savy waiter was entirely helpful in pairing wines with our entree selections. The Antipasti with Grilled Fennel was out of this world along with Broccoli Rabe and the Braised Veal. Delish!! See you as often as possible Vitos crew keep the prices reasonable. Perfection.

Enjoyed the warm weather last week at Vito's in Windsor. Beautiful patio with a view of the pond. Amazing! Great food and a very attentive staff, will definately be back.

Disappointing Service
July 9, 2009 by Anonymous Eater

Visited Vito's on the Water on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 for dinner and was very disappointed. Ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and they had none. Asked for a bottle of Pinot Grigio and they had none. Doesn't appear anyone keeps an eye on the stock and/or the ordering? Service was terrible, glasses were dirty, and food was mediocre. This restaurant does not live up to the quality experienced at the other Vito's locations.

really loved it

Hello, my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Vito's by the Water and we were duly impressed. Our server was phenomenal! She greeted us with a complimentary glass of champagne, as my husband, when making the reservation, stated we were there for our anniversary. We were first time diners and we will definitely be back, but maybe next time just for "date night." Vito's by the Water will now be a permanent addition to our calendar. Glad that a nice restaurant with great food and service came into this area. We needed it!

Get a Leaf Blower
April 27, 2009 by ctcouple

Yesterday was a beautiful day in CT and dining outdoors on the water could have been a pleasant experience if the terrace wasn't filthy. The area was full of cigarette butts and pieces of food that had been dropped or swept from the tables from meals long past. What a turn-off, especially after we were greeted by a surly and very rude hostess.

On the plus side, our waitress was pleasant and the pizza was good... as at all the other Vito's that we've visited.

Lives up to it's reputation

I have been a long time diner at Vito's by the park in hartford. i went out with some work friends and we decided to mix it up and eat at the newest addition to the vito's family, Vito's By the Water. It was exceptional! i was worried that the long established vito's rep in hartford would crush windsor's new opportunity but it only encouraged me to dine in yet another entity of the Vito's establishment. I now am a frequent visitor to both Hartford and Windsor and to this day can not chose a favorite. I am glad the owner of Vito's decided to extend the greatness that Vito's by the park brings by opening Vitos by the Water. Thanks! and I will most certainly be back!!

We are so happy Windsor now has a great Italian Restaurant for us to go to, we're so tired of going to West Hartford center for a meal.... The menu is much like the Vito's in Hartford and the food and service is the same High quality that we've enjoyed over the years. The decor is pretty slick too...

Not a good visit!
October 5, 2008 by yummy1005

Have eaten at the Hartford Vitos & always liked, But? 1st made a reservation the day before going, only table open was in the back corner of banquet rm-loud, hot and cramped! strike 1, Looked around restaurant, they did do a nice job at redoing the place and the decor from what was a very outdated, traditional boring banquet place. Then we sat down after both hosts asked us if we had a reservation. Oh, after lifting plate on the table we sat at, it had a red sauce stain. strike 2, Waited there 10 min for waitress to come over and then asked to move to next table, better. she was busy since she handled banquet group and no busboys? She asked about drinks and we had to ask for water, did i say no buspersons. She left to get our drinks? came back no bread yet and then said the wine I ordered they were out of (by the glass),mmm. I ordered something different, but i think she should of recommended something but she did not! Then received drinks, martini was not a full glass, thats not proper! We then asked for bread! Order then taken, she came back and told me they were out of a proscuito for my antipasta plate, strike 3. We received out food, it was OK, my pasta with my dish was a little hard but that might be picky or I would of overlooked that if the earlier things were not a problem. We then were asked about dessert, so we looked but we were told up front of which items they were out of. the top item on their list! At least she told us. Overall, waitress was attentive and things not her fault. dissapointed in this new place but it looked nice inside.

Great New Place
September 26, 2008 by mammamia

Great place for lunch or dinner. Food is very good, very fresh, specials every day. Waitstaff is excellent, friendly and willing to make suggestions--good ones. Nice martini menu, also good wine selection. Great for pizza, thin, thick and Chicago.
Do suggest making reservations for lunch and dinner.
