Service
June 6, 2008 by Anonymous Eater I love the Lake Tapps Rock food and the service is fine, and when i made it out to the Federal Way Rock, the service was almost as though the servers were not wanting us there! We were in the bar and were ignored!! Rating:
Do you Smell what The Rock is cookin'?
June 4, 2008 by Family of 5 My family had our second outing at The Rock. We were so excited to go back because our first experience was wonderful! Great service, great food, detailed waitress, and descent wait time. But this second time was a real blunder... As far as I could tell our waitress, Allison, was extremely unhappy that we choose to dine there! There was hardly a smile, unfriendly additude, nor were our drinks refilled, zero dough for our kiddos, and she inquired if we were done when we still had pizza in our hands with our mouths full!!!! It's hard to enjoy yourself when it's obvious the wait staff doesn't enjoy you. The only thing to write home about was the taste of the pizza, which is unwavering the best pizza I have had! Maybe call ahead and do take out or avoid unfriendly folks there.... They would have got a 6 star review if our second experience was anything close to the first! Rating:

Picky Eater
April 4, 2008 by ChelleMorales I had been to the Rock right on the outskirts of Sumner and loved it so when it came to Federal Way I was pretty excited. I have been there 3 times and the service has been excellent. The food was superb and the price is right. I have been all three times on either a Friday night or a Saturday and sat in both the bar and in the restaurant. The only reason I gave it a four instead of a 5 is because 2 of the three times I have been there, when I go to the bathroom, the toilets are either not flushed or when I tried, would NOT flush. A little off putting. TRY THE RESTAURANT. It really is good. Even though the others that have reviewed had a bad experience, it seems to be the exception and not the rule. My circle of friends all go often and I have yet to hear a negative comment. Rating:
The rock pizza
March 12, 2008 by Anonymous Eater If you like bad service and cold food, then this is the place for you. 2/3 experiences here have not been good. The time that it was decent, the sever actually looked like he cared what the customer thought, even thought he food was still cold. The wait is long, the food is meh, and the service usually sucks. It might be alright if you are going out for drinks... the beer is alright, but I wouldn't recommend going for food. Rating:
The Rock Wood Fired Pizza
December 10, 2007 by Anonymous Eater We had a party of 5 and had a drink while we waited for our pizza. After a hour we got one of two pizzas and it was the most horrid Pizza i have ever had. A frozen pizza would have been a delight. The crust was so hard i couldn't bite through it, we ordered extra cheese and there wasn't enough to make a cheese sandwich. Then we go to the toppings; what a joke, it was like they were rationing them out. I think they took how to make a pizza from i want to diet book. Any Pizza business can make a pizza better than The Rock. I will never go there again it is the worst I have ever been to bar none. It would be nice if they just went out of business. I don't feel you get what you pay for. If you have any thought of going to a Rock Pizza don't save yourself the bad time out and go to a McDonalds you will have better food and a better time. By the way i won't go to a McDonalds. Rating:
Excellent pizza...and that's it
July 24, 2007 by Anonymous Eater The pizza is absolutely wonderful....if you ever get it. We've been there 3 times, one time very busy the other two times on Sunday night, not very busy. All 3 times the food took over 45 minutes and the service was crap. I am really impressed with the pizza but I won't be going back. Rating:
Bring an appetite, a palate, and some patience
July 18, 2007 by romulusnr Long a Tacoma gem, The Rock's award-winning pizzas, beer, and eponymous music and ambiance has spread the power of Rock throughout the Seattle suburbs, and Federal Way's opening in the Crossings is the latest. While the food and atmosphere are highly recommended, many nights will require a tolerant wait. Best bet is to get there when they open for lunch. Need a hotel?
