Great Restaurant

We have been going here for the last 5 years when we are on vacation and never had a bad meal or rude service. The stuffies are a must along with the lobstr=er bisque and clam chowder.

My mom told me and my wife about this restaurant. I tried this restaurant 4 times each and every time my wife and I were very pleased. I can't believe there were complaints about pricing. I found the food to be very reasonably priced, tasty and the staff friendly. The clam chowder is only second to the black pearl in Newport. Monday nights (during the winter???) there are specials of 2 burgers for $10. You can't do that at McDonalds. I don't know what these other people with the big red noses and giant feet are talking about. The Cove is the best kept secret Charlestown has!

Frequent the cove on a weekly basis for about 1 yr. Never had a bad meal yet. Introduced my parents to the cove and they loved it as well. The staff has always been friendly and tentative. The food is good and priced according. The drinks are average. The atmosphere is warm. Would recommend this restaurant.

Rude staff

My father walks with a cane and needs assistance, and we used the back door to enter this place last night to avoid stairs. There were 2 servers standing near the door and a 50-ish woman with glasses said "the hostess is up front." She certainly could have said "how many in your party?" and let the hostess know. I had to leave my dad and go up front, only to be seated closer to where we entered anyway. As my dad was making his way across the restaurant to our table, a blonde pony-tailed waitress tried to steamroll her way past us so another waitress with a tray of food could get past. The food we received was a 4 out of 10 on the hot scale anyway, what was the rush?

Don't waste your money....

Don't waste your money in this place. The food is average but the prices are way too high for what you are given.

We went the other night and i thougt
off season allthe vacationers are gone
and there was a half hour wait,the bar was even packed. Good food,more than we could eat. And the service was great.
Don't know what planet the other reviews came from but every thing was great. Can't wait to go back.

Have to agree. The rudest person I've ever met in a customer-centric business was the hostess at this restaurant. Never again.

I competely agree with you the place is overpriced. And the hospitality is lacking the owner is rude. There are many other places that are better to spend your money and not have to worry about dealing with nasty people.

Friends dont let friends recomend the cove to anyone.This place need to close its doors..i hope people read these reviews on the web, soo many bad reviews..go down the road to the night watch tavern..
