I Pity the Fool that doesn't try Pho Fusion
January 11, 2007 by Random Accuracy

Located in what used to be where the scariest Buck-a-Scoop Chinese Restaurant I've ever wandered into stood in defiance to common sense, Pho Fusion has quickly gained a dedicated lunch following from nearby DTC. Fast, Tasty and Healthy; if you like noodles you should check this place out.

I'll admit right up front, I've never tried thier Pho... I've heard good and bad from friends (I suspect it's an acquired taste, really), but I don't eat beef (Pho is a beef broth noodle soup with either sliced meat or creepy little "meat balls") so I doubt this one will ever cross my lips. I specifically choose this restaurant at lunchtime for thier noodle/rice bowls; Even more specifically, their tofu noodle bowl with a vegetarian egg roll. With a side of what looks like sugar water with a couple red pepper flakes, this is a great choice if you want to eat somewhat healthy and are tired of Tokyo Joe's. Bowls come with a choice of Beef, Chicken, Shrimp and Tofu and you can substitute the noodles for white or brown rice. The bowls include sprouts, carrots, celery, bokchoy, iceberg lettuce (only god knows why).... wait, the carrots... you will walk away wondering how the hell they got the carrots to taste so sweet and delicious... seriously!

This is a clean restaurant, with lots of boothes and tables. There is so much open room in this restaurant even when it's full it doesn't feel like it's full. You have a choice of take out or eat in (they even managed to secure a liquor license so if you want to booze it up before going back to the office, you can with choice of beer(domestic and asian import), wine and ((I believe)) saki). It's a standard, order at the counter and they'll bring you your food when it's ready, style and expect about a 5-10 minute wait depending on how busy they are (aka get there before Noon for faster service).

Competative prices for DTC lunchtime, your looking at 7-8 dollars per lunch (unless you lush it up, then the skies the limit), so it's not cheap.

Give it a try, and you might get hooked. Pho Fushion puts the Pho in Fun.
