For any Puerto Rican that comes to Killeen, TX and just wants to eat some Spanish food that taste like your moms cooking I would definately recommend going to La Garita its the only PuertoRican Restaraunt around. The managers and workers are friendly its a little pricey but very good food and fresh ! Trust me im puertorican and I love this food !

I only write this because I'm still sitting here waiting for my ticket or at least for someone to ask us if we want anything else. The food was good and I would eat here again but the service was terrible.

La garita is an oasis for those of us away from the island. Alice is awesome and she makes you feel welcome, it's like eating at "mami's". My favorite food is mofongo with carne frita. It is adicting. LOVE IT!!!

I go there a couple of times a month the food is great...the best... Mofongo... yummy... My lil girl is 1 and she love their rice... The owners are very very very nice including the staff... Everybody should go there to eat...

I am Puertorican and trust me I know good food, at the Garita the food is great and the servings are generous. My fav is the octopus salad! can you say YUMMY?

I also drive to Killeen from Austin to eat at la Garita.. Their Pernil with Arroz con Gandules (Deeeelish)! Their Tostones are to die for, I can't get enough of them! They're fresh, not frozen.
The atmosphere is very family oriented and the owners always make you feel welcome. Want some good authentic Puerto Rican food? Go the La Garita, it's worth it..

The food at La Garita is wonderful, very authentic, very real. Their alcapurias are to die for! We live in Austin and drive to Killeen just to go eat at La Garita.

The owner is great too! They are very friendly as well.

Love the food!
