Love the chicken and dumpling soup!

It's a bit strange for some people to say that they are going to eat dinner at a bar. I don't know if it's a La Crosse thing, or if the times are changing, but my parents and I haven't had much of a problem eating at a bar on certain nights. My dad took me to Houghton's one night and I first thought... "It's a bar... they'll probably be a few chairs in a corner and a large area for the actual bar. How great does that sound?" Well don't judge a book by such an ignorant thought. I went there and the food was pretty good. They had this kettle of Chicken and Dumpling soup which was absoultely delicious and their sandwich was pretty tasty too. I wouldn't mind going back to that place sometime. It isn't the best place to eat in La Crosse, but it certainly wasn't horrible either. I reccommend it as a new dining experience. It's too bad that place burnt down though... I hope they rebuild it soon.
