My wife who has cancer decided on our 33rd wedding anniversary to go to the Grotto. When we got there, even though we were on time, and had made reservations a month ahead of time, were told it would be between 30min and an hour before we could be able to get a table. Kathy Salerno had emailed me about their mess ups in reservations, menu and cost and had sais I should ask for her if we had any more problems...which I did. Two minutes later, Mr Puke Salerno appeared, got in my face and said it could be 30min, 50 min or more than an hour and that was the best he could do. I said this is the last time I will go here and he said you will not eat here and if we weren't out in two minutes he would call the ploice. This is the worst experience I have ever had on six continents, 50 countries and 50 states. This guy needs to be put out of business...he is a real PUKE!! Karma will prevail with this PUKE!

My wife and I have been going to the Grotto from the opening. The food is always good service is always good. Sure there are time when you might have to wait for your table. But when
you enjoy your meal it takes longer to
eat.

Great Food and Service

My fiance took me here after proposing on Lake Lewisville. The food and service were both great. I had a ribeye steak and they cooked it perfect. A very nice upscale restraunt without having to drive to North Dallas. We will definately go here again.

Go Somewhere Else

I have been going to the Grotto for three years. The food is good despite the dated depressing decor and very smoky bar.
I made advance reservations for the special Valentine's dinner at $75 per seat. We had 8PM reservations. On arrival it was clear that seating was delayed. Rather than wait outside we chose the bar and ordered drinks. Two couples came in after us. They had 8:15 and 8:30 reservations. They were called before us to be seated. After mentioning our overlooked reservations, we were seated next... almost an hour after arriving.
Morris Salerno, the chef owner, who we know personally appeared at our table. I thought we would receive an apology or a comped drink. Without discussion, we were directed to leave.
It was like a scene from Seinfeld... the "Soup Nazi" episode. Our evening was salvaged by going to Patrizio's also in Highland Village (our first visit) for good food with awesome service. Morris is used to having the only restraunt in town. Things have changed.
